The Role Reporting to the Head of Technology Operations, the Manager, Video Editing Operations will be required to provide full creative and technical management of teams who are responsible for editing long documentaries, short features, and all other formats, and editing daily news. The role will respond flexibly to content requirements for all of SBS productions.Key responsibilities include: Motivate and lead the editing teams to deliver first class content to clients Provide strategic direction and advice to team supervisors to ensure the teams’ training and skills are up-to-date and aligned with business requirements Supervise and approve rosters for editors and media managers in order to provide best fit resources to efficiently deliver on requirements, ensuring budgets are met Provide high-quality service to internal and external clients in line with organisational requirements Work closely with NACA, Sport and NITV to deliver great service, seeking regular feedback on the service levels provided to the business Devise suggestions and recommendations on the best solutions for customer needs that utilize our resources to the greatest capacity and ensures we adapt to the continually evolving media consumption landscape Liaise with the Production Services and Studio Services teams to identify and solve equipment maintenance problems and to improve working practices. Provide reports and feedback where necessary or as requested About you A calm confident approach to problem solving in a high-pressure live production environment. Strong mentoring skills to lead a crew of creative people. Experience working across a variety of productions editing short and long formats creatively to a high standard. Sound organisational and problem-solving skills Demonstrated understanding of Dalet and Adobe Creative Suite or ENPS Extensive experience as a broadcast television editor for news Proven ability to work to tight deadlines in a rapidly changing technology and editorial environment Provide reports and feedback where necessary or as requested Experience in managing a team including the ability to: Build a culture of high-level performance, service, and accountability.
