Leading Hand (Distribution/Warehouse)

Norco has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Leading Hand to join our Coldroom team at our busy milk manufacturing site at Raleigh!

Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Supervisor, in this role you will coordinate the operations of the cold room throughout your shift to ensure all deadlines and customer service requirements are met. In this role you will be responsible for the 3pm – 11pm shift.

 Key responsibilities of the Leading Hand (Coldroom) include:

• Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the cold room during your shift, including receiving, storing, and distributing products.
• Leadership of the cold room, including conducting toolbox talks, supporting and coaching employees, managing conflict, assist planning with rosters, managing absenteeism, providing feedback and recognition.
• Follow all operational and safety procedures to ensure our customer orders are delivered 100% in spec, in full and on time.
• Accurate completion of paperwork.
• Implement and coach other employees on best practice warehouse policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations and adherence to quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that streamline warehouse processes and enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Implement health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for staff. Regularly complete safety walks and check ins with staff.

Qualifications, experience and skills required to succeed in this role:

• Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics.
• Previous experience in FMCG/Manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Physically fit to perform physical / manual tasks in a cold room environment
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse or coldroom environment, including HACCP principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and SAP.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screen.
