About the Role
Norco AgriSolutions is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Maintenance Fitter to join our Animal Nutrition Feed Mill team in Lismore, NSW, with occasional travel to support our Windera, QLD site.
This is a hands-on role responsible for planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across feed mill equipment and plant. You’ll bring a proactive approach to safety, teamwork and problem solving, with flexibility to support operational needs, including varied shifts and occasional weekend work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, planned and reactive maintenance on feed mill equipment (e.g. augers, conveyors, bucket elevators, pellet press, hammer/roller mills and bagging equipment)
- Carry out mechanical repairs, inspections and fault finding
- Conduct repairs on feed truck operational components and associated equipment
- Support machinery installations and minor plant modifications
- Assist contractors with maintenance works
- Undertake minor steel fabrication tasks (where authorised)
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report faults, hazards and safety concerns
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafe, ISO, Agsafe and Norco requirements
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to support maintenance operations
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all activities
What You’ll Bring:
Essential
- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter
- Experience with feed mill or similar manufacturing equipment
- Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding capability
- Experience with packaging machinery and machine installations
- Exposure to pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Steel fabrication and welding capability
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including occasional weekends
- Willingness to travel to Windera (QLD) for scheduled maintenance
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Reliable, proactive and team-focused approach
- Physically capable of manual handling tasks
- Ability to follow procedures and work safely
Desirable
- Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting
- Knowledge of stockfeed manufacturing processes and hygiene requirements
- Working at Heights, Confined Space and Forklift licences (or willingness to obtain)
