HC Transport Driver

About the role:

Norco is seeking an experienced Heavy Combination (HC) Truck Driver to join the team at our milk manufacturing and distribution site, based in Labrador, Gold Coast on a casual basis.  

Reporting to the Transport Co-ordinator, you will ensure all operational and safety procedures are followed to ensure our customer orders are delivered 100% in spec, in full and on time. 

This role will suit candidates who enjoy active roles, as you will be required to unload milk at the depot upon arrival and reload empty crates prior to departure to site.

What skills and experience are required to succeed in this role?

• Hold an HC Licence, essential minimum requirement.
• Physically fit for manual aspect of role (i.e. moving cargons / crates of approximately 100 kg’s) with understanding of correct manual handling procedures.
• Forklift Licenses, highly desirable for multi-tasking across various shift configurations.
• Experience in complying with CoR standards for work hours, fatigue management and load security.
• Ability to plan and organise routes, taking into account other fleet scheduling activities.
• Experience completing heavy vehicle checks including monitoring trailer fridge motors.
• Understand distributor order picking procedures and loading sequence for multiple orders.
• Understand standard operating procedures for cartons, crates and pallets.
• Punctual and reliable for early morning, day or afternoon shifts (shifts commence between 4am and 2pm, Monday to Saturday and occasional Sundays)
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Model safe work practices and compliance with all Norco policies and procedures.
