THE ROLE
We are seeking an exceptional operations leader to join our community as Director of Operations. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this senior leadership role provides strategic oversight and operational direction across all non‑teaching services of the School.
The Director of Operations ensures that infrastructure, facilities, risk management, compliance, governance, and workplace health and safety functions are aligned with the School’s Strategic Plan and enable outstanding teaching and learning outcomes. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to an experienced professional who thrives in a complex environment and is committed to service excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic advice to the Principal, Executive and Board on operations, infrastructure, WHS, risk and compliance.
- Lead the School’s governance, risk, compliance and WHS frameworks, including policy oversight and incident management.
- Chair the WHS Committee and maintain emergency, fire and security compliance.
- Lead delivery of infrastructure, facilities and capital works programs aligned to strategic and master planning priorities.
- Ensure facilities and grounds consistently meet the School’s standard of excellence and sustainability goals.
- Develop and manage operational, facilities, WHS, security and capital works budgets.
- Oversee contractor and supplier management, procurement and safe work practices.
- Lead the Facilities Team across grounds, cleaning, security, assets and facilities management.
ABOUT YOU
You are a collaborative, authoritative and values‑driven leader with proven experience overseeing complex operational portfolios. You bring:
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing facilities, infrastructure, WHS and operational teams.
- Strong project delivery capability across capital and minor works.
- Sound commercial, financial and contract management acumen.
- Well‑developed understanding of WHS, risk, governance and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A continuous improvement mindset aligned to strategic objectives.
- Bachelor degree in Operations, Business Administration, Project Management or a related field, or equivalent significant experience.
