Maintenance and Reliability Manager

As a Co-operative, the GFC exists to maximise value for its fishermen members, whilst ensuring sustainable development of the industry. The RoleThe role is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of equipment, machinery, and control systems at our processing and export facilities.Safety is our number one value. You will manage in-house activities and contractors within a robust safety management system.There is a strategic element to this role. You will use your knowledge and enthusiasm to help the company develop and implement a best practice Planned Preventative Maintenance Program.Your time will be split across a range of functions covering planning, monitoring, reporting, contractor management, and hands-on maintenance tasks. The role would ideally suit an ambitious professional who recognises this as an opportunity to effect change and to develop their career. Duties include:Ensuring the safe completion of all maintenance work.Tracking equipment efficiency and performance parameters such that planned maintenance is undertaken when required.Developing a Planned Preventative Maintenance Program – to include procurement and inventory management of critical spares.Reviewing historical data regarding failures and undertaking root cause analysis to ensure cost-effective solutions are identified.Acting as the ‘primary point of contact’ for maintenance contractors working in the business.Undertaking some ‘on the tools’ work – directing activity undertaken by a small in-house maintenance team.Developing, and tracking progress to, annual budgets.Helping the business achieve safety, financial, and operational KPI’s. Skills and Experience:Experience in working under safety management systems.Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline (preferred but not essential).Minimum of two years’ experience in an industrial maintenance or project engineering environment – ideally, including a working knowledge of pneumatics, mechanics, hydraulics and electrical.Demonstrated ability to supervise third-party service providers and contractors.Computer literacy to include word processing and spreadsheet capabilities.Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision.Excellent organising and analysing skills.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships. This an opportunity to work in a fact-based organisation – and to make a difference.
