About the roleReporting to our Head of High Performance, as our Strength and Conditioning Coach (Rehabilitation and Strength) you will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team in a role that spans injury management, reconditioning, prevention, and strength programming.In the role you will be specifically responsible for:Planning and implementing effective injury management and rehabilitation programs in consultation with the head physiotherapist, doctor, performance coaches and the high performance team.Prescribing and implementing reconditioning sessions that prepare players to perform at AFL level.Ensuring that injured players use their time to progress on their individual development plans, and that all reconditioning sessions relate back to each players development plan as well as the demands of the AFL football.Prescribing and implementing strength programs that prepare players to perform and withstand the demands of AFL.Working closely with all stakeholders to ensure players physical performance plan requirements are being met.Ensuring that a high level of communication and trust exists within key stakeholders within the football department.About youWith a Bachelor of Exercise Science and current ESSA or Level 2 ASCA accreditation, you will have experience working with elite athletes and a track record of success in reconditioning and rehabilitation program design and implementation. You’ll demonstrate strong communication skills and have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with our playing group and other key stakeholders. You’ll have a good understanding of, and the ability to utilise in practice, current sport science technology to help guide programming and be able to record professional notes to maintain an effective injury management and strength programming database.
