To do this, we have strong commercial partnerships and innovate with non-traditional ventures, such as our Essendon Education Academy and EFC Investment Fund, so that we can deliver world class events, give back to our fans, run community programs and ultimately, strive toward our 17th premiership.About the roleReporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide assistance as required in financial matters across the business, partnering with our stakeholders to ensure all internal/external requirements are adhered to.The key responsibilities will include:Preparation of month end and year end closesPreparation of budget & forecasts with key stakeholders of the clubIdentifying and executing process improvement opportunitiesPreparation & distribution of timely financial information to relevant stakeholders, including commentary and variance analysisPreparation of ad-hoc reporting models to support various departmental cost trackingPreparation of Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliationsEstablishing relationships outside of finance to deliver analysis and supportAbout youThe successful applicant will be a passionate self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset. A creative thinker who enjoys streamlining processes, building analytical reports and most importantly will be a keen problem solver who enjoys a challenge. With a minimum of 5 years’ experience in either a Business Partner or Management Accountant role you will have:Strong financial accounting background with a clear understanding of accounting and budgeting principlesStrong stakeholder management with the ability to connect and influenceAdvanced systems and Excel skillsStrong attention to detail with the ability to understand the big picture.Ability to work to tight deadlinesAbility to handle confidential informationCA/CPA/CIMA qualified or equivalentOther skills, experience and attributes which are highly desirable, but not essential include:Previous experience in new system implementation/system integrations or change managementMicrosoft Dynamics 365 - Finance & OperationsWorkday AdaptiveSalesforceCandidates with a business partnering background in the sporting industry will be advantageous.The PerksOur work doesn’t always fit the 9 to 5.
