Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS' signalling system.

About the Role
The Senior Possessions Advisor is responsible for coordinating track possessions including assessing and interrogating works programs to enable the construction of new stations and other rail assets. You will work closely with our key stakeholders which include our construction contractors, internal teams and Queensland Rail.
Duties will include leading multi-agency working groups to support the possession program while adhering to robust governance frameworks, process and reporting requirements. The successful applicant will be working from our modern corporate office in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD. This opportunity is offered as a contract until December 2026 with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate track possessions program in collaboration with key stakeholders, adhering to possession planning protocols.
- Engage with stakeholders and to identify and document potential impacts on the track possessions program.
- Review and assess construction works programs to identify impacts associated with project works undertaken during possessions.
- Monitor, identify and escalate key risks and issues and provide advice on solutions and mitigation measures.
- Communicate upcoming possessions/track closures, monitor performance, and report progress.
- Chair, provide secretariat support, or attend Possession related working groups and project meetings.
About You:
- Experience supporting works or maintenance programs for rail or transport infrastructure involving scheduled closures or shutdowns, with an understanding of sequencing or works activities.
- Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to monitor and track deliverables, priorities, and activities to meet deadlines.
- Capable of interpreting complex information to produce effective communication tools for various audiences.
- Work autonomously and responsibly to meet deadlines, and adjust to shifting demands and priorities.
- Experience developing and improving best-practice processes and procedures.
