The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street.

Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland.

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to effective project and program risk governance across a city shaping rail program as it progresses towards operational readiness and First Passenger Service. You will support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Delivery Authority’s Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management framework, helping ensure risk information is accurate, consistent and ready to support informed decisions.

Working closely with Project Directors, Project Performance Advisors, risk owners and key stakeholders, you will coordinate the Program Risk Register, provide governance and secretariat support for the Risk Leadership Group, prepare reporting and assist with risk reviews, strategy sessions and escalation activities. This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until 30 September 2028 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the Program Risk Register and coordinate associated governance activities.
• Facilitate regular risk register reviews with Directors, Project Directors and risk owners to ensure risk information remains current, accurate and aligned with program priorities.
• Monitor the program risk profile and support the identification, escalation and reporting of emerging risks, issues,  and trends.
• Provide governance and secretariat support for the Risk Leadership Group, including coordinating agendas, papers, meeting preparation, minutes, actions and reporting outputs.
• Review and challenge risk descriptions, ratings, controls, treatments, actions, ownership and supporting evidence to improve consistency and governance outcomes.
• Prepare governance reports, executive briefings, presentations, and governance papers and to support informed decision making.
• Provide risk governance advice and support to Project Directors, risk owners and other key stakeholders.
• Facilitate risk workshops, reviews and strategy sessions.
• Maintain the integrity and administration of risk systems and registers, including Active Risk Manager (ARM).
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk governance processes, tools, templates, reporting products and organisational capability.

About You:

• Experience supporting project or program risk management, including risk registers, assessments, treatments, escalation and reporting.
• Strong governance, administration and coordination skills, with experience supporting senior forums and tracking actions through to completion.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review, interpret and challenge risk information.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing briefings, governance papers, reports and management commentary.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities and deliver accurate work within deadlines.
• Experience improving governance processes, tools, templates and reporting products.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, with experience using Active Risk Manager, Power BI, SharePoint or similar systems highly regarded.
