Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS' signalling system.

About the Role
Our Integrated Delivery Team provide leadership and project management to ensure the acceptance of critical technical integration milestones (Route to Acceptance) to enable successful completion of the Cross River Rail. Interfacing with and ensuring alignment between our internal project teams and external stakeholders. The team have a project management focus on identifying and mitigating risk and issues including engineering, design, disruptions and commercial challenges as well as change management processes.
The Senior Project Advisor will provide coordination support for project management activities for the Integrated Delivery Team to reach acceptance of project milestones. This will include contributing to facilitating scope alignment, stakeholder management, programming, governance and reporting.
Working from our modern corporate offices in Brisbane’s CBD, this is a great opportunity for aspiring project managers to gain client-side experience on a landmark infrastructure project. This position will be offered as a contract until December 2026 with possible extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in governance, change management, project controls, stakeholder management, scheduling, and reporting.
- Support the Identification, escalation, and development of solutions for risks and issues impacting project delivery.
- Assist in project management activities, considering program and budget needs.
- Prepare and coordinate weekly progress reports.
- Support risk mitigation and opportunity realisation activities, ensuring target schedule updates.
- Maintain strong relationships with key State stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and successful outcomes.
About You
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following key competencies:
- Experience in project management, governance and assurance in a major project or complex organisational environment.
- Highly developed communication and relationship management capabilities enabling effective engagement in the execution of contract administration, governance and assurance systems with managers across the Delivery Authority.
- Strong organisational skill and capability with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective management systems at a range of levels from day-to-day project delivery activities through to Board reporting.
- Capability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the achievement of team and organisational goals.
- Strong collaboration skill, with an ability to understand audiences and adapt style accordingly to drive outcomes.
- Experience in major infrastructure projects desirable but not essential.
- Qualifications in project management are desirable but not essential.
