The Role – What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carrying out all-round groundwork, with a focus on ground beams and drainage

  • Confidently installing drainage systems (internal & external), ensuring accuracy, safety, and correct levels

  • Completing external works including slabs, kerbs, and edgings

  • Digging footings and preparing for concrete works

  • Operating and banking dumpers safely and efficiently

  • Reading and interpreting levels and site drawings with precision

  • Carrying out daily pre-start plant safety inspections and maintenance checks (Dumpers/Rollers) and reporting service requirements promptly

  • Working safely around live services, applying service avoidance techniques

  • Taking a proactive, hands-on approach and managing time effectively to keep projects moving

Cards & Qualifications Required
  • CSCS Labourer / Groundworker or similar qualification 
  • CPCS/NPORS* tickets – particularly for Telehandlers, Dumpers, and Rollers
 
Desirable Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years’ groundwork experience

  • Previous experience working in gangs/teams
