Groundworker (Topman)

ROLE OVERVIEW

  • Setting out levels, line and falls using drawings and laser equipment
  • Overseeing the installation of drainage systems (clay, plastic and concrete)
  • Installing manholes, chambers and associated drainage structures
  • Ensuring correct alignment, gradient and quality of all pipework
  • Coordinating with machine operators and site management
  • Reading and interpreting drawings and technical specifications
  • Monitoring progress and resolving on-site issues
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations
  • Supporting and mentoring team members on site

REQUIREMENTS:

  • CSCS Skilled Worker Blue Card (essential)
  • Confined Spaces Training
  • CPCS or NPORS Slinger or Dumper ticket
  • Proven experience as a Drainage Topman or Senior Pipelayer
  • Strong understanding of drainage systems, levels and gradients
  • Ability to set out and read technical drawings accurately
  • Previous experience supervising small teams
  • Good awareness of site health & safety practices
  • Reliable, punctual and able to lead by example
  • Right to work in the UK
