About the RoleSt Peters Lutheran College is seeking an experienced Payroll Adviser to deliver accurate, compliant, and high‑quality end‑to‑end payroll services in a busy and complex environment.This is a hands‑on senior payroll role that combines technical subject‑matter expertise with day‑to‑day payroll administration. Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, you will play a critical role in ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time, while also providing expert payroll advice, compliance assurance, and continuous improvement of payroll processes.You will work closely with the College’s external payroll provider and internal stakeholders, and will be directly involved in payroll processing activities, including fortnightly payroll cycles, out‑of‑cycle payments, terminations, reconciliations, and query resolution.Key ResponsibilitiesHands‑on delivery of accurate and timely end‑to‑end payroll services, including fortnightly payroll runs, adjustments, and terminationsEnsuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and statutory obligationsProviding expert payroll advice, responding to payroll queries and supporting leaders and staff across the CollegeMaintaining payroll system integrity, data security, quality assurance controls and records managementLiaising with the external payroll provider and relevant government agenciesDriving improvements to payroll processes, systems, and controls through identification and implementationWhat You BringYou are an experienced payroll professional who can work hands on in day-to-day payroll administration and service delivery, while also operating as a trusted payroll adviser. About the Role

St Peters Lutheran College is seeking an experienced Payroll Adviser to deliver accurate, compliant, and high‑quality end‑to‑end payroll services in a busy and complex environment.

This is a hands‑on senior payroll role that combines technical subject‑matter expertise with day‑to‑day payroll administration. Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, you will play a critical role in ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time, while also providing expert payroll advice, compliance assurance, and continuous improvement of payroll processes.

You will work closely with the College’s external payroll provider and internal stakeholders, and will be directly involved in payroll processing activities, including fortnightly payroll cycles, out‑of‑cycle payments, terminations, reconciliations, and query resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands‑on delivery of accurate and timely end‑to‑end payroll services, including fortnightly payroll runs, adjustments, and terminations
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and statutory obligations
  • Providing expert payroll advice, responding to payroll queries and supporting leaders and staff across the College
  • Maintaining payroll system integrity, data security, quality assurance controls and records management
  • Liaising with the external payroll provider and relevant government agencies
  • Driving improvements to payroll processes, systems, and controls through identification and implementation

What You Bring

You are an experienced payroll professional who can work hands on in day-to-day payroll administration and service delivery, while also operating as a trusted payroll adviser. You bring strong technical payroll knowledge, high level attention to detail, sound professional judgement, and a demonstrated commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and service excellence.

Experience in a medium to large organisation with the ability to interpret enterprise agreements and manage complex employment conditions, will be highly regarded.

You will also have strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements, and the ability to build effective working relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
