We ask our students and employees to embrace our motto of ‘Plus Ultra’ and contribute to Challenging Minds | Nurturing Hearts | Building Futures.About the roleReporting to (a soon to be sourced) a Chief Operating Officer, this position requires a strategic thinker who, through a team, makes sustainable value happen. Using foundations in place to create a service focused function, the position ensures housekeeping and laundry services connect with others to deliver a seamless community experience for all at our Indooroopilly College. With beautiful historic and new facilities to maintain across our 50+ acres, this position demands consideration to a breadth operational needs today and planning for the future.   With up to 200 Boarders onsite and an all year round schedule, the position requires careful planning of resources, operating rhythms and leadership of a diverse and committed team.   Understanding financial frameworks including procurement and budgeting, workplace health and safety and a thorough knowledge of employment principles and workforce scheduling, is key. About youYou know that change is ongoing and you lead your team through strategic change to create outcomes.  Through experience you understand the operational realities of this field.  You use this, with your line supervisors, to develop the capabilities of others to be solution, team and outcomes oriented.You demonstrate value and care to understand context, identify strengths and use that in your planning and implementation.    This includes your unconditional positive regard for each team member and finding a way to lead high standards for performance with care, dignity and respect.   You have an aptitude for patience and resilience along with tenacious delivery.  Balancing your strong background of working in and leading a service function, you draw upon your operational knowledge, safety and people expertise to role model the behaviours and services required in the team. You love exploring systems of work and finding innovative solutions and you can share stories of successfully navigating the commercial and financial realities with the workforce elements.As a keen learner, you have evidence of ongoing learning and you demonstrate continued commitment to your professional development. This role requires an early start with your team at 4am, not for the faint hearted.  Experience and qualificationsYou have relevant and deep work experience in housekeeping, laundry or similar field and you are exceptional at both what you do and how you go about it.   Desirable, but not essential, is experience in P-12 education and/or boarding; and relevant qualifications.The position is all year and full time.Position description AUD Indooroopilly 4068
