Food Services Cook

About the RoleSt Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our Food Services team. The Cook plays a vital role in supporting the efficient and high-quality operation of the College's Food Services department, assisting with preparation and cooking of meals and supporting catering tasks safely and to a high standard.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook meals according to recipes and to quality standards. Support the Chef and Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations.Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety and proper storage. Be aware of food allergies and special dietary requirements.Maintain a positive attitude and a strong commitment to providing healthy and  appealing menu options. Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively liaise with colleagues and  subordinate staff, ensuring clear and consistent communication. What You BringA relevant tertiary qualification in Food Safety Supervision or a related discipline, and/or at least 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen.Comprehensive knowledge of food hygiene legislation, food safety standards and allergen management.Experience in a similar role, with knowledge of an education, boarding or institutional setting. The Cook plays a vital role in supporting the efficient and high-quality operation of the College's Food Services department, assisting with preparation and cooking of meals and supporting catering tasks safely and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and to quality standards.

What You Bring
