THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Manager to lead the financial operations of the College and support its long-term sustainability. Reporting to the Leader of Business Operations and working closely with the Principal, this position plays a vital role in delivering strong financial stewardship aligned with the College’s values and strategic direction.
The Finance Manager oversees all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting and forecasting, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, internal controls, audit preparation, and compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements. The role also provides strategic financial modelling and high-level advice to inform planning and decision-making across the College. Central to the position is the leadership and development of the Finance Team, fostering a culture of professionalism, collaboration and continuous improvement.
This role requires someone who can work proactively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including budget holders, affiliate groups, and regulatory bodies. A key focus is on building strong, supportive relationships across the College community to ensure responsible resource management that directly supports teaching, learning and student outcomes.
This is a full-time, ongoing Education Support position classified under Category A, Level 5 of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022. Salary subdivision will be commensurate with experience.

ABOUT YOU
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate sound responses to the following selection criteria:
Essential
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting or Commerce (or equivalent)
CPA or CA qualification
Significant experience in financial management, including reporting, compliance and strategic planning
Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and support a high-performing team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
High-level analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in financial systems and ICT platforms
Understanding of financial compliance, audit and risk processes
Desirable
Experience in an educational or not-for-profit setting
Experience with Synergetic
Membership of a relevant professional association
COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
This position is subject to a Working With Children Check and Criminal History check.

SALARY RANGE
Education Support Services, Category a, Level 5
$110,431 - $121,906 full time equivalent
