Operations Centre – Control Room Dispatcher – Sale or Melbourne

The OrganisationProudly serving Australians since 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service provides emergency aeromedical and health care services for people in rural and remote regions across Australia. Mobile Patient Care (MPC) is a service division of RFDS Victoria, providing non-emergency patient transport services in both rural and metropolitan locations across VIC and NSW.Position PurposeCoordinate non-emergency patient transports, transporting patients with a range of medical conditions in accordance with RFDS policies and procedures and Non-Emergency Patient Transport clinical practice protocols and regulations.  Contribute to operational communications, dispatch Mobile Patient Care (MPC) crews and supervise the day to day running of shifts and manage their welfare and fatigue.  Represent the RFDS by maintaining positive working relationships with health providers. Key ResponsibilitiesTreat all patients and their families with respect and sensitivity, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Contribute to a positive team culture, stay calm in a crisis and ensure patient centric outcomes are achieved.Be able to work independently as required, adapt to changing situations and take appropriate action to find solutions and resolve issues. Approach all patient bookings with a "can do" attitude.  Work within RFDS policies, procedures, NEPT regulations, clinical practice protocols and utilise all resources available.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other health providers and colleagues.  Be proactive in the pursuit of multi patient bookings.Allocate resources, road personnel and vehicles, in accordance with all RFDS policies, procedures and Non-Emergency Patient Transport Regulations. Demonstrate a cost effective approach for the use of resources.
