Clinical Team Leader, Mental Health and Wellbeing – F/T Maximum Term, 30/6/2023

Our motto is ‘the farthest corner, the finest care’ and we are proud to be a part of the solution to inequities in rural health access.Position PurposeThe Clinical Team Leader will work as part of the Flying Doctor Wellbeing team, leading the delivery of mild to moderate outreach mental health services to isolated communities across Victoria in a hybrid model of face to face and telehealth. The role will be essential in providing clinical leadership and management to the Flying Doctor Wellbeing team, ensuring day to day operations are carried out to meet the needs of rural Victoria and that a high quality and safe service is delivered.  The Clinical Team Leader will provide clinical support and guidance to Flying Doctor Wellbeing Clinicians, facilitate line management supervision, engage in clinical and caseload reviews and audits, and  oversee client access to the service, including waitlists.Whilst the role is  based in Richmond it involves some regular travel across Victoria. The role  supported by the RFDS Health Services Manager, Mental Health and the RFDS Medical Director.  The role is one of three team leader roles across the program, and the leadership team includes a senior mental health clinician.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesMonitor and lead the ongoing development and improvement of the Flying Doctor Wellbeing service and client pathways.Provide clinical leadership, consultation and expertise to Flying Doctor Wellbeing Mental Health Clinicians in the delivery of mild to moderate mental health services.Provide line management to clinical staff and oversee staff performance and development.Oversee client service access, to ensure high quality clinical care.Lead and participate in regular multidisciplinary meetings, supervision, case conferences and clinical review meetings to ensure clinical quality and safety.Assist with high risk client escalation processes..Develop, implement and review policies and procedures that relate to direct service provision.Represent the Flying Doctor Wellbeing at relevant internal  committees as appropriate.Work with the Health Service Manager to manage resources and rosters in a flexible and efficient manner to ensure timely and responsive service delivery.Ensure a high level of clinical quality and comprehensive care is provided via regular audits and monitoring of organisational policy and procedure compliance.Provide clinical leadership and operational management to mental health clinicians who are providing outreach and blended modality mental health services to rural Victorians.Develop, implement and monitor clinical process to ensure a high-quality service is delivered.  Qualifications and ExperienceEssential:Minimum 2 years demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams including the facilitation of line management supervision, clinical reviews and performance management processes.Tertiary qualification which includes one or more of the following:Social Work (Mental Health)PsychologyMental Health NursingOccupational Therapy (Mental Health)Hold or be eligible for AHPRA or AASW RegistrationAdvanced clinical decision-making skills and demonstrated experience in a range of mental health service settings.Experience in service development and quality monitoring and improvement.Preferred:Experience in a rural or remote settingExperience managing a dispersed teamExperience in undertaking and reporting on clinical auditing processes, and other Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.Skills, knowledge, mandatory requirements and competenciesStrong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a highly productive environment with time pressures whilst managing multiple tasks.Excellent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, electronic recording systems and data management tools.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a productive team member.Willingness to travel across Victoria.Willingness to deliver services via Telehealth.Current drivers license and Working with Children’s Check.If this sounds like the right opportunity for you please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your suitability for the role by 10th of June 2022Applications will be assessed as received and only applicants shortlisted for an interview will be contacted directly.RFDS is committed to creating a diverse working environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer PD AUD Richmond 3121
