Business Analyst

Position PurposePart of the Corporate Services team, this role works closely with ELT (Executive Leadership Team) members, managers and key employees to enable strategic priorities to be delivered. There are 3 main purposes:Supports MPC (Mobile Patient Care) Management team in the area of data and analysis. The role is responsible for processing data, discovery of useful information, building financial models and creating highly visual representations to support MPC’s day to day operations.Assists the Applications Development team gathering business requirements. Translate them into system (functional and non-functional) requirements.Supports RFDS (Royal Flying Doctor Service) business units/departments analysing data from transaction processing systems to provide insights for improvement in the business. Coordinates data collection process for adhoc requests.Position Tasks and ResponsibilitiesPrepare, develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of reports, models and dashboards on complex operational issues for senior management and key stakeholders.Liaise with internal and external parties regarding the provision of data, building and sharing of insights and reports. Work closely with the Data Warehouse team to manage, develop datasets and automate data pipelines.Proactively build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders. Identify and address issues impacting the integrity of data, undertaking analysis and reporting to satisfy business requirements.Gather and translate business requirements into system requirements, create and maintain project artefacts such as scope and software requirement specifications.Coordinate between business users and the development team to handle User Acceptance Testing.Operate within increased level of autonomy and accountability in delivering within the organization strategic directions.Skills, knowledge, mandatory requirements and competenciesStrong Analytical Skills to support understanding of key performance drivers, and raise recommendations on actions required to improve performance.Strong Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills.Communication and Interpersonal Skills.Qualifications and ExperienceTertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Computer Science or Information Technology.Experience with Operational and Financial Data Modelling/Analysis.Experience with Agile Development.Ability to produce system requirement specifications and related artefacts.Experience with Analytics and Business Intelligence platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.Experience in ETL processes and tools such as Matillion, Alteryx or Tableau PREP is a major advantage.Good command of SQL and VBA is desirable.Experience working with senior decision makers.Please click apply to start your application, including your resume and a cover letter ) outlining your suitability for the role by COB 29th August.
