We are currently seeking an Operations Manager professional with a minimum of 5 years experience to oversee and manage our operation in Baltimore, MD. This leadership role will be tasked with managing the entire site of all daily activities in a high volume, fast paced warehouse that specifically includes Distribution of Lubricants and Logistics.Provide training to all operations personnel to achieve high customer service levels while maintaining cost effective delivery routing and inventory levels.Oversee management of all aspects of facility operations, prepare work schedules, coordinate vacation scheduling and assign specific duties among direct reports.Supervise and coach all office personnel and ensure all established PPC policies and procedures are followed.Maintain a clean, safe working environment and ensure that personnel follow established health, safety, and environmental practices.Ensure that the facility and equipment are maintained and adequately protected.Execute and manage established quality system and standards to ensure consistent quality of products from material receipt, packaging and distribution to customers.Ensure that inventory control procedures are fully utilized to maximize return on investment, minimize inventory loss, and provide a high level of service to our customers.Closely monitor product delivery issues and coordinate with operations personnel, customer service staff and sales to ensure customer service levels are not negatively impacted.Coordinate and provide support on any facility maintenance and improvement projects taking place at the facility.Determine staffing requirements, and interview, hire and train new employees or oversee those personnel processes.Continually evaluate operations personnel and provide periodic feedback on job performance and develop improvement plans when needed. Conduct formal yearly performance evaluations in accordance with PPC policy.Communicate with our Customers, Vendors, and Sales and Customer Service teams in a professional and courteous manner consistent with PPC standards.Responsible for purchasing decisions with regards to facility maintenance and supplies as well as choosing associated vendors.Establish a routine of periodic cross training between job functions to provide coverage during employee days off.Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the PPC management team.Report payroll information on a bi-weekly basis and maintain records for hourly and non hourly employees.Review monthly financial statement and activity reports to measure productivity to determine areas needing cost reduction and or program improvements. Skills/Qualifications:-Must have a minimum of 5 years of managerial experience- Hands on manager that thrives in being deeply involved with the day to day activities with our employees to ensure goals are met. -Prior warehouse supervisory, manager, and logistics experience highly valued. -Inventory management experience highly preferred.-Current forklift certification.-Strong computer skills and embracing of new technology are a must!-Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to issue clear work instructions.-Strong problem solving skills with the ability to pro actively look for ways to reduce issues that arise and initiate corrective action plans if needed.-Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff and major projects or initiatives.-Excellent interpersonal skills.-Excellent people manager, open to direction and possess a collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done.-Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.-Ability to look at situations from several points of view and offer constructive solutions to problems and operational issues.-Delegate responsibilities effectively.-High comfort level working in an ever changing and diverse environment.-A demonstrated commitment to high professional and ethical standards.
