Learning Assistant – Middle Schools


The RoleApplications are invited from suitably experienced, qualified, enthusiastic and caring individuals to support student learning and well-being at the Middle Schools (boys and girls), working in classrooms with individuals and groups of students.This part time (0.6) fixed term position is available for an immediate start for Term One, working Mondays to Wednesdays.Working in a team environment, the Learning Assistant will, under the guidance and supervision of a teacher:Assist teachers in the preparation of program activities, including preparing and organising classroom resources, materials and equipmentMonitor and report on student well-being Support student learning in a broad range of curriculum activitiesUndertake supervision duties outside of classroom activities, including playground, excursions, sports activities and camp supervision as requiredAssist the teacher in maintaining a safe and positive learning environment for the studentsSupport students with special needs (eg, anaphylaxis, allergies, physical, or learning disabilities) and assist students with special needs in participating in school programsAttend and support a range of school events and activities as required.The successful applicant will have relevant experience, a Certificate III or higher relevant qualification and current first aid accreditation.Please see the position description for further information.The SchoolPenleigh and Essendon Grammar School has over 2800 students from K-12 at campuses in Moonee Ponds, Essendon and Keilor East.
