The School

Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School has over 3000 students from K-12 at campuses in Moonee Ponds, Essendon and Keilor East. The School provides a diamond education, with a co-educational Kindergarten programme, single-sex education at the Junior Schools and Middle Schools from Years 7 to 10 and co-education at the Larkin Centre (Years 11 to 12).

The Role

We seek expressions of interest from experienced Grounds and Maintenance Assistants to join our hard working and dedicated team in maintaining high quality, well-presented grounds. This full-time ongoing position commences on 26 May 2025 and is based at the Junior School (girls) Moonee Ponds Campus, and may work across other campuses as required.

You will be a self-starter who can work independently and in a team environment. You will be experienced and take pride in your work and have a passion for providing a high quality and timely service. Duties include:

• Maintaining the presentation of gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas and building infrastructure.
• Performing general labour tasks, including moving furniture and equipment and assisting with deliveries as needed.
• Assisting with gardening duties such as preparation and planting, fertilising, mowing, watering, and leaf raking.
• Routine maintenance of turf, synthetic and other play surfaces
• Monitoring and maintaining play equipment and outdoor surfaces.
• Waste management, including emptying bins, cleaning and liaising with waste services.
• Assisting with event setup, including the relocation of equipment and furniture.
• Responding to maintenance requests, including minor repairs, painting and cleaning tasks.
• Complying with school policies, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards, and legal requirements.
