The Role
Applications are invited for an outstanding educator and music leader to join our school as Deputy Director of Music. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly capable teacher and collaborative leader to contribute to a vibrant Music Department and support the continued development of high-quality classroom, ensemble and performance programs.
The Deputy Director of Music will be an outstanding leader and classroom music teacher; knowledgeable in music curriculum and in current pedagogical thinking; committed to student well-being and able to demonstrate and model educational leadership in matters of classroom teaching and learning at years 7 to 12.
In addition to teaching classroom music and supporting the Director of Music, the Deputy Director of Music is responsible for overseeing the classroom music programme for the Middle and Senior Years and initiating ongoing improvement to the programme and its delivery in line with the values of the school. They will attend assemblies and meetings across the school as required and be a passionate supporter of a high-quality music programme and attend after school rehearsals and performances.
The Deputy Director of Music will contribute to whole-school priorities, and play an active role in strengthening a culture of excellence, participation and continuous improvement within the Music Department including:

The Music Programme
The school has an extensive Music programme that offers students the chance to develop their ability in a positive environment led by dedicated staff, alongside fellow students and in front of audiences. The school has over 800 students involved in individual tuition.
The programme offers a wide range of opportunities for students in classroom music, individual tuition and a large range of ensembles. Beyond the pride students feel from learning an instrument, the music programme fosters engagement, creativity, artistry, perseverance, and the joyful experience of playing alongside fellow students.
