Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School seeks an Art Technician to support the Middle Schools Art and VCD program.Reporting to the Art and VCD and Branding Coordinator, you will provide technical support, including assisting with art displays and exhibits and ensuring areas are neat and tidy, materials are available and equipment is in good working order.The Art Technician will:Ensure Art and VCD storage areas are clean, well labelled and materials are stored safelyKeep an inventory of, and maintain, the school's Art and VCD equipmentMonitor and order stock as required to ensure materials are available for classesAssist in setting up art displays and exhibitsAssist Art and VCD teachers with general tasks relating to the program, to assist teachers in delivering the curriculum. This may include assisting teachers preparing for lessons, cleaning up and setting up rooms.Assist students with art queries, as requiredFollow school policies and procedures to maintain a safe environmentSupport the Branding coordinator as required.The successful applicant will demonstrate:Knowledge of and the ability to work with a broad range of art techniques and processes (eg. ceramics, printmaking)Design skills, with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign of benefitExperience preparing artwork for displays and exhibitsThe ability to work independently and manage their time independentlyThe ability to prioritise tasks and activities to meet deadlinesA systematic approach to completing tasksAbility to work effectively and professionally with staff and studentsGeneral fitness to enable safe lifting and moving of materials and equipmentA Working With Children Check.
