Director of Early Learning Centre

Full TimeNorwest Christian College is an independent, co-educational P-12 school located in the growing north-west sector of Sydney. With the mission of Building Purposeful Lives; loving God, pursuing our purpose, and building our capacity, our community is focused upon facilitating great learning, the service of others, and ensuring that each young person experiences loving and caring relationships in a supportive pastoral environment.We are seeking a passionate Director for our thriving Early Learning Centre who will motivate and inspire a dedicated team of educators whilst building strong relationships with families and coordinating all day to day centre operations such as admin, health & safety and staff development. Commencing at the start of Term 3, or by negotiation, the successful candidate will have relevant teaching experience and qualifications as well as educational leadership experience.The Director of the Early Learning Centre will be expected to run a high quality centre ensuring all regulatory obligations are met including NQF, NQS, and the Australia EYL Framework. In addition to the leadership role the Director will be required to provide hands on to support and guide educators in all aspects of the industry.The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate at interview a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ, and a lifestyle consistent with that faith, including an active commitment to a Christian fellowship, as well as the following skills and experience;A strong understanding of and commitment to Christian education and the Christian development of children;Ability to provide strategic leadership of staff and students in alignment with the vision and mission of the College;Bachelor of Teaching degree;Ability to thrive under pressure and be adaptable to a changing environment;Demonstrated capabilities in team and culture leadership, safety and operational excellence;An enthusiastic, inspiring and innovative personality with an ability to evoke a positive team culture and build community connections;Thorough understanding of the EYL Framework, NQF, NQS, Quality Improvement Plans and current Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations;Manage and support the team’s development and administration of quality learning programs and assessments;Experience in Assessment and Ratings and maintaining compliance will be highly regarded;Management of rosters and coordination of an ELC budget.Candidates shortlisted for interview will be expected to provide a Working With Children Check clearance number or clearance letter, and must be able to live and work in NSW.Applications close on Monday, 27 May 2019.  AUD Riverstone 2765

Working with Children Check

Under the Child Protection [Working With Children] Act 2012 [NSW] and the Child Protection [Working with Children] Regulation 2013 [NSW] the College can only employ persons (who will be engaged in child-related work) who hold a verified WWCC clearance from the NSW Office of the Children's Guardian.

The College requires that all employees hold this clearance.

All employment applications must include a copy of the applicants WWCC clearance letter.

How to apply for a WWCC Clearance:

  • Complete an online application form available at www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au
  • When submitted online, the applicant will receive an application number
  • Take this number together with proof of identity to a Service NSW
  • Pay the $80 (tax deductible) charge for a five year clearance.
