Menzies works at the frontline, joining with partners across the Asia-Pacific as well as Indigenous communities across northern and central Australia.About the position:The Centre for Child Development and Education (CCDE) is a trans-disciplinary research centre committed to providing leadership and driving change to improve the lives of Indigenous and non-Indigenous children through better health, education and wellbeing.The Data Analyst/Manager will contribute to the effective operation of data linkage projects within the CCDE. The incumbent will work with an analysis team in managing and analysing data, maintaining the IT infrastructure and contributing to the preparation and scientific reporting of study findings.The Data Analyst/Manager will:Work in collaboration with colleagues to develop the current program of research and other data linkage projects using linked administrative data for analyses relevant to understanding determinants and outcomes for the population of the Northern Territory.Undertake co-supervision of honors and/or postgraduate research projects.Provide expertise in the design, management and analysis of data and information.Undertake high level statistical data analysis and interpretations and oversee the management and preparation of data for analysis.In collaboration with colleagues, contribute to the timely preparation of progress and final reports.Contribute to the development of research dissemination strategies.Develop funding submissions for research projects.Develop and maintain a profile of scholarly publication in relevant outlets.Prepare and present statistical information and research findings to varied audiences.The successful applicant will have:Degree in health, social sciences or statistics, and relevant postgraduate qualifications with background experience or knowledge in human development.Demonstrated capacity to conduct independent research under broad direction, or in collaboration with researchers as part of a team.Experience and skills in the technical aspects of the management of large-scale population level datasets.Experience and high level skills in epidemiology and biostatistics and proficiency in using statistical programs such as STATA to analyse data and generate research outputs.Proven academic written skills in English and an ability to express complex concepts and information clearly and precisely to a varied audience.A record of scholarly and expert technical publication in peer reviewed journals commensurate with career experience and opportunity.Proven experience in the preparation of grant applications and applications for funding.Demonstrated ability to manage time, establish priorities and work to deadlines.Contact: Prof John Condon on 0407 227 254 or john.condon@menzies.edu.auWhat we offer:6 weeks pa annual leave (pro-rata)Option to increase super to 14%Attractive salary package and benefits $119,893 - $139,476 salary package (comprising gross salary $94,935 - $111,277, superannuation and salary packaging benefits.Closing date:  15 September 2019Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to applyFor information on how to apply for this position and to obtain the Position Description and Selection Criteria please visit www.menzies.edu.au/careers or phone 08 8946 8626.  AUD Darwin
