We are actively seeking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join us in our West African Operations on a 6 week on, 4 weeks off roster. The Project Manager is fully accountable for the performance of their AUMS operation across all areas including safety, environment & profitability, the role is vital to the success of our business.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally be a tertiary qualified mining engineer with strong commercial acumen as well as exceptional project management and client relationship skills gained within a mining contractor organisation. Candidates without the preferred tertiary qualifications, however with significant industry experience, are also strongly encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all project activities and budget
- Monitor and report project progress to stakeholders
- Communicate and liaise with the client representatives
- Manage the project resource allocation
- Implement and manage project changes
- Successfully manage the performance of all employees
- Develop and maintain a climate of 'innovation' where all employees can contribute to work methods that improve safety, productivity and profitability
- Understand the complexities and various aspects of managing an Underground Contract Mining scope
Skills & Experience required
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering (Preferred)
- Significant experience in a Project Management role working for a Mining Contractor
- Significant Underground Metalliferous experience
- Strong commercial acumen, task-focussed and results driven
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, costs and resources
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and conflict resolution skills
- A drive for continuous improvement
- Outstanding client relations management skills
