Pakenham CARCO is looking for an experienced Financial Administrator or Assistant Accountant to join our growing team. This role offers flexibility, full time or part time, and the chance to work closely with our Financial Controller and Dealership Accountant, gaining hands-on exposure across a variety of functions within the dealership.
Industry knowledge is key! Prior experience in the automotive sector or a strong understanding of dealership operations will set you up for success in this role. While formal accounting qualifications are not essential, some experience in financial administration, bookkeeping, or accounting is highly valued.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly Profit & Loss statements
- Managing floorplan reconciliations, payments, and audits
- Supporting the year-end audit process
- Preparing monthly and weekly reports
- Conducting balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
- Reconciling manufacturer retail and fleet claims
About you:
- Previous experience in the automotive industry (essential)
- Background in financial administration, bookkeeping, or accounting
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
- A team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic
