We are currently seeking an Automotive Apprentice who will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on vehicles under the guidance of qualified senior workshop staff. This role involves hands-on training and education to develop skills and knowledge in automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
The Role:
- Gain necessary skills and knowledge to perform service and repairs on vehicles in accordance with manufacturer times and specifications ensuring all work is completing up to quality standards.
- Assist technicians in performing repair and maintenance work on vehicles
- Ensure the mechanical and technical skills you have acquired is of a standard equivalent to the level of your apprenticeship.
- Attend technical college/trade school on required days, successfully completing units within specified times.
- Attend technical training courses offered by the manufacturer.
- Keep up to date with technical bulletins and technical publications.
- Stay up to date on product changes and new products.
- Assist with diagnosing vehicle faults.
- Accurately record all parts used on repair orders.
- Ensure the vehicles are returned as clean as they were received prior to being serviced/repaired.
- Report to Management any circumstances or conditions that compromise the integrity or safety of the dealership, its personnel or customers.
- Use supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.
- Ensure workshop is clean at all times.
Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to carry out scheduled service work and repairs in line with apprenticeship level.
- The ability to work as a self-directed member of a team in line with apprenticeship level.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Entry level computer skills.
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Experience providing excellent customer service.
- A good understanding of automotive repair and servicing concepts (desirable but not essential).
- Must hold a valid driver's license
