Essendon FC - "The Bombers" - are a professional sporting team in the Australian Football League. As home to 5 sporting teams, we run our AFL men’s and women’s programs, VFL women’s and men’s programs, and a wheelchair football team. But we’re more than the game. Not only do we exist to win premierships, we aim to give back to our loyal membership base, and importantly, our community. To do this, we have strong commercial partnerships and innovate with non-traditional ventures, such as our Essendon Education Academy and EFC Investment Fund, so that we can deliver world class events, give back to our fans, run community programs and ultimately, strive toward our next premiership. About the roleReporting to the General Manager – Consumer, the Head of Membership will drive our membership strategy and lead the membership team in the pursuit of the Club’s short, medium and long term membership goals. This will include defining and managing best in class connection and retention, a laser focus on member conversion and growth and ensuring maximum financial return from the membership program.As the Head of Membership, you will be responsible for leading the member journey including setting strategies to attract and retain members to meet growth and yield targets, leveraging data, sales techniques and the servicing of current and potential members, and provide leadership to a young team of enthusiastic staff inspiring them to achieve both team and individual KPIs.The Head of Membership will be responsible for:Manage, develop and execute the club’s membership sales strategy to maximise revenue and attendances at all home gamesDevelop annual membership campaigns and budgets with a focus on growing revenue along with innovative retention and acquisition strategiesWork with internal and external stakeholders to understand and develop strategies around pricing, community offers and promotionsManage the renewal and acquisition campaigns including mail house activities, fulfilment requirements, outbound call campaigns and membership programsDeveloping sales strategies to convert fans and supporters of the Essendon FC to current membersBuilding a new sales and service model to retain membersManaging all match day Membership activities focusing on customer sales and service opportunitiesUtilise data analytics to meet key objectives and develop a better understanding of all marketsLead and motivate the team to achieve sales targets About youYou are tertiary qualified, with extensive experience in a member organisation such as; professional sporting environment, live events or leisure and entertainment industries. You will have demonstrated experience managing teams in customer facing environment and driving teams to meet sales KPIs. You will have outstanding communication skills and demonstrated leadership with the ability to lead, motivate, and influence a sales and service team.You will champion your ideas and creativity when it comes to developing member programs and your energetic sales, acquisition and retention strategy mind-set is what sets you apart, not to mention your strong personal brand which personifies the EFC values. The PerksOur work doesn’t always fit the 9 to 5.
