Youth Connections Coordinator

Our Time, Our Space is a youth-led wellbeing program designed to reduce loneliness and social isolation among young women across the Northern Rivers. Through group activities, mentoring and community connection, the program supports participants to build confidence, resilience, meaningful relationships and a stronger sense of belonging.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded Youth Connections Coordinator to lead the delivery of this exciting program. This rewarding role combines youth engagement, program coordination, volunteer management and community partnership development to create positive outcomes for young women across our region.

• Coordinate the planning, delivery and evaluation of the Our Time, Our Space program in line with funding objectives and organisational priorities.

• Recruit, engage and support young women to participate in a strengths-based, trauma-informed and culturally responsive wellbeing program.

• Plan and facilitate engaging group sessions, workshops and activities that promote wellbeing, social connection, leadership and resilience.

• Recruit, onboard, train and support volunteer mentors to ensure safe and effective program delivery.

• Coordinate participant retreats, including accommodation, transport, venues, activities and risk management requirements.

• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with schools, Aboriginal organisations, youth services and community organisations to strengthen referral pathways and program participation.

• Promote meaningful youth participation by supporting peer leadership opportunities and participant involvement in program design.

• Monitor participant wellbeing and respond appropriately to safeguarding, child protection and mandatory reporting obligations.

• Maintain accurate client records, case notes, consent documentation and program data within organisational systems.

• Prepare reports on program outcomes, evaluation findings and funding requirements while contributing to continuous service improvement.

• Fixed-term part-time position working 18 hours per week until 30 June 2028.

• Primarily based at our Lismore office with regular travel throughout the Northern Rivers region.

• Occasional overnight travel may be required for participant retreats and program activities.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Youth Work, Community Development, Social Work, Human Services or a related discipline and/or substantial relevant experience.

• Demonstrated experience coordinating community-based programs or projects that achieve positive outcomes for young people.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and support young people using strengths-based, trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches.

• Experience facilitating group activities, workshops or community engagement programs.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with participants, volunteers, schools, Aboriginal organisations and other community stakeholders.

• Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities, meet funding requirements and manage competing priorities.

• Strong administrative and computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and client management systems.

• Current NSW Driver Licence.

• NSW Working with Children Check.

• National Police Check.

• Willingness and ability to undertake regional and occasional overnight travel.
