About Community Gateway
Community Gateway has been supporting people across Northern NSW since 1976. Guided by our vision: "Many tracks, one road, sustaining community", we work to ensure everyone feels safe, included and connected. Our values of integrity, respect, inclusion and compassion shape everything we do.
Community Gateway exists to reduce socioeconomic disadvantage by delivering welfare and capacity building services, practical help, advocacy and opportunities for people to have a voice in decisions that affect their lives.
We are a registered charity, a child safe organisation and QIP accredited, against the Quality Improvement Council Health and Community Services Standards 7th Edition.
As an equal employment opportunity employer, we are committed to achieving a diverse workforce and strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
More details about our organisation and services can be found on our website nrcg.org.au.
Role Summary
Community Gateway is looking for friendly, reliable Volunteer Drivers to support our food rescue program. If you enjoy being out on the road, meeting people and helping your local community, this role is a great fit.
Our volunteer food rescue truck drivers pick up surplus food from local supermarkets and food donors, delivering it to our community partners and neighbourhood centres.
You'll be part of a supportive team that ensures good food is saved from landfill and redirected to local people and communities doing it tough.
Shifts are flexible to suit your availability. Whether you can help daily, weekly or fortnightly, we'd love to hear from you.
There will be a combination of office-based work at 76 Carrington Street, Lismore and driving throughout a network of locations in and around the Northern Rivers NSW.
