Northern Rivers Community Gateway is looking for a committed and community-focused NILs Loans Officer to join our Social and Financial Inclusion team in Lismore.
As part of our No Interest Loans Scheme (NILs) team, you’ll empower people experiencing financial hardship by helping them access safe, affordable credit and support services.

As a NILs Loans Officer, you will:
Conduct face-to-face and remote loan interviews with clients
Assist with compiling and submitting loan applications
Follow up on required documentation and liaise with Centrelink where needed
Promote the NILs program and connect clients to other Community Gateway services
Maintain accurate client records and meet reporting requirements
Support loan clients who fall behind in repayments
You’ll be based in Lismore, but may occasionally travel across the NSW North Coast region.
What we’re looking forEssential:
A genuine understanding of the needs of people on low incomes
Relevant qualifications and/or experience in community services, finance or similar
Strong time management skills and the ability to meet targets and deadlines
Proficient computer skills, especially in databases and Microsoft Office
Desirable:
Experience in microfinance, loans, or financial support services
Additional requirements:
Current NSW driver licence
Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
