About the role
Are you a Project Manager within the manufacturing sector looking for your next career opportunity within the food industry? Are you passionate about engineering and have a proven track record of successfully managing projects?
Due to organisational growth, we have a newly created role available for an Engineering Project Manager to join our team and effectively manage site-based projects from conception to completion. Reporting to the General Manager Engineering, this position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and at the highest standards.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Liaise with key stakeholder to develop a comprehensive project management plan from concept to completion using the appropriate methodology
- Manage financial achievements for the project ensuring budget is maintained
- Manage project timelines ensuring Senior Management are kept up to date on the completion of all major milestones and/or set backs.
- Provide regular reports and briefings on project progression and identify any risk factors that may impact on project timeline, resources or budget.
- Supervise required contractors ensuring safe and efficient practice whilst on site
- Convene regular milestone meetings to ensure ongoing communication between Project Team, Senior Management & Site Maintenance Team throughout the term of the project
- Onsite management of project activities during critical periods of the project and any other required periods as directed by the General Manager Engineering
- Development of handover plan from project status to operational status which includes completion of documentation and training of operational maintenance staff

About you
We're seeking a dynamic engineering project manager who thrives on challenges and excels in delivering projects on time and within budget. To be successful in this role, you will possess strong problem-solving skills and have a solid understanding of engineering principles and practices.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
- A minimum of 5 years work experience in a mechanical project engineering and project management position
- Experience with computerised maintenance management solutions and/or ERP Systems
- Strong report writing and negotiation skills
- Capability to interpret engineering drawings and contracts with precision
- Experience in liaising with contractors and suppliers
- Demonstrated ability to think quickly, clearly, logically whilst meeting deadlines
- Strong communication skills across all levels of stakeholders
- Previous experience working within a meat/FMCG business (desirable)
