Sustainability Manager

About the RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sustainability Manager to join our team and make their mark by driving our sustainability strategy whilst reporting to the General Manager of Marketing & Corporate Governance.You will be responsible for contributing to and leading the execution of the BE Campbell Sustainability Strategy. You will be required to conduct research on the latest developments and best practises across the entire supply chain, support the education of staff, and help us create positive impacts within the community and for our valued partners.BE Campbell's Sustainability Strategy 2025 (the Strategy) aims to position the company as a significant contributor to the food industry's overall goal of reducing its carbon footprint and helping the business live its purpose of enriching lives.Key tasks of this role include:Drive the implementation of initiatives to reach various sustainability goals and targetsTake the lead in developing our business wide culture and awareness around sustainabilityReview, analyse and adapt the strategy based on a review of best practice, government policy, and consumer preferencesPropose recommendations for specific initiatives that will help the business achieve its targets, including for energy usage, emissions reduction, sustainable packaging, waste management among othersReview business wide policies and procedures to align with the company’s commitment to sustainabilityRemain abreast of grant opportunities at federal and state government levels as well as across the industry sector that may assist in funding our initiativesDevelop and present regular reports for senior management that track and monitor progress against the agreed targets and timeframes in the StrategyWrite project briefs or funding proposal for submission to the relevant bodies as requiredAbout UsEstablished in 1969, we have grown to be one of Australia's largest family owned meat operations, supplying supermarkets, restaurants, retail butchers, small-goods producers and export channels.We employ over 600 staff and are proud to have won Woolworths Meat Supplier of the Year for 2011, 2012 and 2017.Our leading-edge manufacturing processes and dedicated team produce high quality food products across a range of fresh categories. We operate two sites located in Western Sydney.About youWe’re looking for a self- motivated individual with a can-do attitude.  You are an excellent communicator with strong influencing and decision-making abilities.  Your desire to make a difference, combined with your extensive knowledge of current sustainability, social impact, and community engagement, will see you to excel in this role!To be successful in the role you will bring:At least 3-5 years’ experience in a corporate sustainability/corporate responsibility role or related capabilitiesExperience across multiple sustainability dimensions, including community, people, environmental, procurement, operational practices and customer engagementAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelGood written and verbal communication skillsExcellent attention to detailAbility to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlinesPassionate about making different through sustainable practicesNOTE: It is a requirement of BE Campbell for all employees to be fully vaccinated.
