Payroll Manager

About the RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our friendly and professional team based in Wetherill Park.Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will lead and support the payroll team to ensure that the payroll process runs smoothly and is completed with a high level of accuracy as well as in a timely manner.   The role will also see you continually review relevant systems and processes to ensure they are effective and efficient for both the payroll function and the business.Key tasks of this role include:Ensuring all employee records are maintained accurately and in a timely mannerEnsuring all documentation that is required to meet audit, legislative and regulatory requirements is received and filed per procedureSupporting HR in the management of the business Establishment in Chris21Managing and participating in the weekly processing of the BE Campbell payroll ensuring all payroll payments are accurate and remitted by the due date in accordance with relevant awards or employment contractsPerforming end of month review and reconciliationsCompleting monthly and annual payroll tax reconciliations and ensuring lodgement is completed by the due dateGenerating year-end payroll reconciliations and completion of all year-end tasks by due dateIdentify opportunities for improvements in both the payroll processes and system set up and managing the implementation of the agreed changesProviding a confidential, responsive and positive relationship with staff when responding to their issuesFostering a close and open relationship with HR and business managers to ensure information and issues are shared in a timely manner to allow prompt resolutionAbout UsEstablished in 1969, we have grown to be one of Australia's largest family owned meat operations, supplying supermarkets, restaurants, retail butchers, small-goods producers and export channels.We employ over 600 staff and are proud to have won Woolworths Meat Supplier of the Year for 2011, 2012 and 2017.Our leading-edge manufacturing processes and dedicated team produce high quality food products across a range of fresh categories. We operate two sites located in Western Sydney.About youWe’re looking for a motivated leader with a can-do attitude.  You are an excellent communicator and possess strong decision-making skills.  Your deep understanding of payroll processes coupled with your ability to challenge status quo and champion process improvement will see you thrive in this role!To be successful in the role you will bring:Minimum of 5 years payroll experience in a similar roleTeam management experience: effective in developing and leading staffGood written and verbal communication skillsDesire to improve (yourself, others and processes)Experience using the CHRIS21 payroll system or willingness to learn Experience with time management systems (preferably Mitrefinch TMS)A thorough understanding of payroll regulatory requirements (NES, legislation, awards etc)Proficient skills in all Microsoft Office ApplicationsExcellent attention to detailAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesNOTE: It is a requirement of BE Campbell for all employees to be fully vaccinated.
