Payroll Officer

THE COMPANYEstablished in 1969, the business has grown to be one of Australia’s largest privately owned meat operations. The company operates three processing sites including a pork de-boning facility, a case ready facility and an abattoir. The business serves a wide variety of markets including supermarket, retail, distributor, manufacturing and export.THE ROLE We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team in Wetherill Park. The Payroll Officer is responsible for assisting in the overall preparation and processing of the company’s payroll to ensure completion in full and on time on a weekly basis.Process payroll in CHRIS21 on a weekly basisEnsure employees are paid in accordance with relevant awardsReconcile monthly payroll balancesReview time clockings on a daily basis for all sites and assist close out of anomalies (includes processing leave certificates and reviewing overtime)Support Operations Supervisors and Managers with the time and attendance system (Mitrefinch TMS) as requiredProcess terminations within agreed due date and prepare separation certificatesProcess staff purchases and salary sacrifice of work related items by agreed dayPrepare and lodge payroll tax on a monthly basisIn the absence of the Payroll Manager, or when required, have the ability to complete the end-to-end payroll process without assistance.THE CANDIDATEA minimum of 5 years experience in a similar roleGood understanding of superannuation, terminations, redundancies, tax and time & attendanceDemonstrated payroll processing experienceThe ability to communicate at all levelsExcellent attention to detailNumerical ability & data entry skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesAbility to interpret awards and relevant legislationIn return you will work for a reputable Australian owned and operated company that pride themselves of training and developing from within.
