The Systems Accountant is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance, and support of financial systems, with a primary focus on SAP, Oracle EPM, Concur, Corporate Online and Timesheeting systems. This role collaborates closely with the Senior Systems Accountant, finance teams, IT, and other business units to ensure that these systems effectively support financial reporting, budgeting and strategic planning. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshooting, and training finance users to enhance system utilization.
What Does Success Look Like:
- Collaborate with the Senior Systems Accountant to manage the day-to-day operations of financial systems, ensuring data integrity, system stability, and smooth integrations.
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve system issues, coordinating with Finance, IT and external vendors.
- Be actively involved in business systems transformation, including user acceptance testing, test script creation, and system enhancements.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on system configurations, processes, and data flow, creating a central knowledge base for key system-related activities.
- Develop and deliver user training, including creating easy-to-understand resources to help finance teams maximize system usage and efficiency.
- Ensure financial systems align with company policies and regulatory standards, providing support for compliance audits and reporting.
Exposure & Experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) are preferred.
Experience & Skills:
- Relevant experience in a systems accountant or similar role, with expertise in SAP (front-end and back-end configuration/tables).
- Experience with user acceptance testing and involvement in system implementation and process optimization projects.
- Experience with data migration and system reconciliation, is a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and reporting.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools.
