This position will be offered on a full time permanent basis.You will be responsible for the contribution towards the development and implementation of health, safety and environmental standards, strategies, policies and practices to support ATCO’s operations.What will you do?Provide advice, assistance and support to project management teams.Facilitate and assist with worker consultation to ensure ongoing proactive engagement and worker ownership of safe systems of work.Coach, mentor and assist supervisors and workers to identify and manage health, safety and environmental hazards and risks.Provide technical advice and support in response to incidents and assist in supporting subsequent investigations where required.Oversee the delivery of regular internal and external health and safety reporting requirements.Review, amend and contribute to the development of safety management system documents such as standards and work instructions.Review risk assessments and controls, and participate in control verification activities.Undertake integrated HSE audits as required.Lead or facilitate risk assessment workshops.Contribute to the development and implementation of health and safety management system, strategies, operating standards and practices.Review contractor safety documentation and undertake periodic performance inspections as required.What you’ll needRelevant post-secondary qualification in Health & Safety (Cert IV minimum).Previous experience working as a health safety and environment (HSE) advisor.Knowledge and understanding of health, safety, environmental and worker’s compensation legislation and standards.Demonstrate commitment to positively influencing safety performance through a culture of learning and collaboration.Excellent communication skills (written and oral), including the ability to develop and present concise health and safety reports, investigation findings and briefs, risk assessments and training material.Current C Class Driver’s License.Benefits Access to additional purchased leaveNovated Lease and Car BenefitsEmployee Share Purchase PlanAccess to a range of corporate discounts, including health insurance, banking and fitness clubs.Become a member of Energy West Social ClubAccess to ATCO's Employee Assistance ProgramATCO fosters an inclusive workplace culture where everyone is treated fairly and with respect.
