Our focus is on building a world-class Sustainability & Government Relations team that will shape the future of Environment, Sustainability and Governance for ATCO in Australia. This role will report into the Senior Manager – Sustainability Governance, ATCO Australia. About the roleOffer expertise and guidance on environmental and heritage management practices to support asset operations and development, ensuring compliance with legislation and standards.Coordinate environmental feasibility and risk assessments for major projects and maintenance operations, identifying and mitigating environmental risks in accordance with legislative requirements.Provide specialised technical advice to the Environmental team, operational personnel, and management, addressing various environmental requirements across different operational assets and locations nationwide.Lead a team, fostering their professional growth and development within the organisation.Conduct or assist in field-based environmental inspections and qualitative risk assessments, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for improvement.Develop and deliver training materials to enhance awareness and ensure adherence to environmental processes, approvals, and legislation across company operations.Manage and report on environmental compliance obligations, including obligations under ISO 14001, ecology, heritage and pipeline legislation,  Lead or participate in environmental audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring that outcomes are acted upon and lessons learned are applied to prevent recurrence. What we are looking forExperienced professional ideally with operational and/or infrastructure background, overseeing multiple sites, complemented by a relevant Environmental Science or Engineering tertiary qualification or equivalent.Proven track record in managing, leading, and inspiring teams to deliver exceptional results.Specialised knowledge in noise management, heritage management, or invasive species management is highly advantageous.Possess a robust working knowledge and practical application of environmental legislation, standards and codes, with a focus on Western Australia and national contexts.Proficient in implementing environmental and integrated management systems, including familiarity with ISO 14001 standards and their application.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), including the ability to develop and present concise environmental management plans, undertake risk assessments and relevant training material. What we offerYour Impact:Play a crucial role in initiatives that will shape the future of our organisation.
