Environmental Advisor

ATCO's Australian operations are headquartered in Perth, Western Australia and specialise in creating innovative, customer focused energy and infrastructure solutions. ATCO owns and operates Western Australia's largest gas distribution network with more than 750,000 connection points and 14,000km of pipelines. ATCO also operates two progressive power generation stations - in Adelaide and the Pilbara.We are looking for an Environmental Advisor to provide support and guidance to the ATCO Australia Operations.The primary functions of the role will be to assist in identification of operational and construction related environmental aspects/risks to ensure adherence with relevant environmental legislation, regulations, contractual obligations, sustainability requirements, environmental procedures and initiatives. The role will also be responsible for assisting with meeting regulatory reporting requirements relating to permits, approvals, approved management plans or licenses.What you will contribute to:Assisting in the identification and management of environmental issues; including aboriginal heritage, flora/fauna, surface and groundwater, clearing/rehabilitation activities, contaminated sites and environmental noiseAssist in the creation and review of environmental documents, management plans and training materials, ensuring compliance with the requirements established within.Assist in the identification of environmental risks and controls, including control review and verificationProject managing contractors and consultants providing environmental services for ATCOProviding technical environmental advice in the interpretation of legislation, acts and regulationsPreparing and submitting compliance reports in association with legislative requirements (permits, licenses, regulations and approvals)Assisting in the preparation and submission of environmental approvals across various projectsResponding to environmental incidents and supporting subsequent investigationsConduct environmental inspections and audits on site and at operational facilitiesConducting field sampling and analysis where requiredAbout you:Tertiary qualifications and experience in an environmental or related fieldIndustry knowledge and experience in state and federal environmental regulationExperience with the interpretation of environmental monitoring programs, results and reportsKnowledge of ISO 14001 environmental management system requirements If this sounds like you, please apply online at www.atcogas.com.au attaching your resume and cover letter.ATCO fosters an inclusive workplace culture where everyone is treated fairly and with respect.
