ATCO's Australian operations are headquartered in Perth, Western Australia and specialise in creating innovative, customer focused energy and infrastructure solutions. ATCO owns and operates Western Australia's largest gas distribution network with more than 750,000 connection points and 14,000km of pipelines. ATCO also operates two progressive power generation stations - in Adelaide and the Pilbara. These facilities collectively generate 266 megawatts of power, providing energy for thousands of public sector, domestic, industrial and commercial consumers across the country.ATCO is looking for a Data Analyst with some experience in the Construction, Utilities and/or Energy Sector. The Data Analyst will combine data analysis and business analysis skills to support the definition and delivery of ATCO’s data and analytics program and associated business systems projects delivered by IT according to business requirements.The main responsibilities of the Data Analyst are to:Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external providers to design and implement innovative solutions to resolve business problems.Investigate and propose improvements in the use of data to drive strategic decision making.Develop quantitative and qualitative analyses to help identify business improvement opportunities.Lead the modelling and analysis of data over a diverse range of data sources and formats, including structured, multi-structured, and unstructured.Assist in the implementation of solutions that establish ATCO’s digital and data & analytics capabilities including data access, data wrangling and transformation, and data analysis and visualisation.Guide the interpretation and communication of results of data analysis, making recommendations to stakeholders of varying levels of data literacy.Bridge the interface between new digital and data & analytics solutions with back office systems to ensure ATCO exploits its existing IT asset capability.Undertake business analysis to interpret business requirements into technological solutionsSource data from a variety of sources and combine, synthesise and analyse to generate insights.Undertake the design and creation of API’s using ATCO’s Hybrid Integration Platform in support of digital and analytical initiatives.Build visualisation dashboards and reports that accurately reflect vital information about ATCO’s digital assets.Assist the Manager of IT Applications in definition and delivery of ATCO’s data and analytics program.What you will contribute to:Partner with the Business SMEs, the Manager IT Applications, and the Senior Digital Analyst, to build a solid and reliable data and analytics platform that supports ATCO’s business needs.Work with the Senior Digital Analyst to communicate a compelling data analytics roadmap that ensures business stakeholders with varying degrees of technical literacy are able to understand and capitalise on the analytical insights.About you:Essential:Tertiary qualification in IT, Business, Statistics, Economics or other quantitative disciplines.5+ years’ experience in the design and development of analytical solutions.Strong knowledge of SQL, P/SQL, databases, integration, master data management, quality assurance, data wrangling, and data governance technologies.Strong knowledge in API development preferably using Software AG’s WebMethods API management platform.Advanced skills in the design and development of reports and dashboards using Power BI.Proven experience in:Working with and managing major data analytical platforms.Experience in guiding and responding to complex business reporting requirements in an outsourced environment.Strong analytical thinker and problem solver with thought leadership and commercial awareness.Ability to analyse large, complex datasets from diverse sources, structures and formats.Ability to articulate highly technical concepts and insights, in a way that can be understood by stakeholders of varying degrees of technical literacy.Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work within a collaborative team environment.Ability to assist the business translate data insights into business recommendations.Organised and can work to deadlines.Team player and ability to work autonomously when required.If this sounds like you, please apply online attaching your resume and cover letter. ATCO fosters an inclusive workplace culture where everyone is treated fairly and with respect.
