Reporting to the General Counsel and Company Secretary, the Senior Manager of Risk and Compliance oversees ATCO Australia’s risk and compliance function. This pivotal role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring frameworks that align with ATCO’s strategic priorities. A key focus is to integrate risk management into strategic decision-making and business planning.
What Success Looks Like
- Guide and mentor the Risk & Compliance team to align with strategic objectives.
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of risk and compliance frameworks, policies, and record-keeping.
- Represent the risk & compliance function in key governance and executive forums, including the Executive Team Risk Management & Compliance Committee (RMCC) and the Board Risk Management Committee (RMC).
- Promote the incorporation of risk management into strategic and operational decisions.
- Provide oversight and advice on key regulatory and legislative changes, including the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) framework.
- Monitor and manage risk and compliance incidents.
- Manage and oversee corporate compliance training.
- Strengthen organizational resilience through crisis management and business continuity training and support.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Financial Management, Engineering, Law or related field.
- Professional risk management and/or insurance qualifications.
Background
- Proven experience managing risk and compliance teams in highly regulated industries like energy, infrastructure, or utilities.
- Strong understanding of strategic risk management within the infrastructure sector.
- Skilled in presenting to executive leaders, Boards and governance committees.
- Expertise in integrating risk into strategic and operational planning.
- Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders, including executives, regulators, and government representatives.
- Balancing compliance obligations with strategic business needs.
- Leading the education and development of teams on key risk management concepts.
