Risk and Safety Engineer

ATCO owns and operates Western Australia's largest gas distribution network with more than 750,000 connection points and 14,000km of pipelines.Based at our Jandakot office reporting to the Manager Technical Compliance, we currently have an opportunity for an experienced Risk & Safety Engineer to join our team on a fixed term basis.This key role contributes to ATCO Gas Divisions systems and procedures to assure regulatory compliance, adequacy of Safety Cases and process safety risk management systems and safe operation of the gas distribution network.What you will contribute to:Investigation and reporting of gas distribution network incidents to senior management and regulatory authorities.ATCOs risk and compliance management processes by conducting qualitative risk assessments and Hazard and Operability Studies of ATCO gas distribution network and facilities.ATCOs emergency management process by overseeing review and revisions of emergency management plans and conducting of emergency exercises.ATCOs safety management systems by assisting with review and revision of plans, procedures and work instructions for which Technical Compliance is responsible.Preferred skills and experience:University degree qualification in Engineering or Science.Experience /extensive experience in risk assessments, such as HAZOP Studies and various qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques.Experience in incident investigation and emergency management processes and plans.Experience in process and/or dangerous goods safety knowledge including Safety Case regime.Knowledge and experience within petroleum pipelines and/or gas distribution system industries will be highly regarded.If this sounds like you, please apply online attaching your resume and cover letter.ATCO fosters an inclusive workplace culture where everyone is treated fairly and with respect.
