Gas Utilisation Inspector

ATCO owns and operates Western Australia's largest gas distribution network with more than 750,000 connection points and 14,000km of pipelines.ATCO Gas Australia is seeking a skilled Gas Utilisation Inspector to be based in Jandakot, with regular travel across the metro and regional areas of Western Australia. In this role, you will lead G-Class inspections, investigate gas incidents and compliance breaches, and provide expert technical advice to contractors, customers, and internal teams.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections and re-inspections on new and additional gasfitting work to ensure compliance with standards.Issue Notices of Defects and Inspector’s Orders for non-compliant installations, monitor compliance, and action rectifications.Lead investigations into gasfitting breaches and incidents, preparing reports for enforcement actions.Provide technical guidance on gas distribution projects, fault finding and problem-solving.Deliver training sessions and awareness packages on gas safety and compliance to internal teams and external stakeholders.Foster relationships and collaborate with contractors, consultants, government agencies, and internal stakeholders to achieve safe gas utilisation outcomes.About You: The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of ATCO’s Inspection Policy Statement and Plan. The candidate will bring experience issuing Notices of Defects to gasfitters, or Inspector’s Orders to customers (or equivalent) and effectively monitor compliance with rectification notices.
